Abstract

The paper discusses underlying restrictive characteristics of classifying structures, which are used in pre and post-coordinated systems related to knowledge representation and to the mapping of relationships among concepts. The Aristotle predicates theory, the Porphyry tree, the theory of language games (Wittgenstein), the network-type labyrinth (Eco), and the rhizome model are revisited and associated to the classification theory principles, as well as to associative relationships networks among concepts in thesaurus
