Abstract

The study analyzed how the peer review process in Communication journals occurs, according to 13 editors, reviewers and authors of seven journals. Data collection was carried out by means of electronic questionnaires and face-to-face interviews in order to clarify the evaluation process. Perceptions of participants of the peer review process are connected or change according to the category looked at: editor, author or referee. The study concludes that, in general, journals follow scientific procedures that give credibility to publications.
