Information management using the infomapping method
Abstract
Information management is extremely important for organizations. Information mapping (Infomapping) is an instrument that can be utilized in the context of information management. To perform information mapping, a method created by Burk Jr. and Horton Jr. - "Infomapping" - can be utilized which is a valuable tool for managing information resources of an organization. The method allows to accurately uncover the degree of unfamiliarity that one has about the resources, service and systems with which the work of organization information is done. The process consists of surveying all information, that are supposedly an information resource -either internally generated or externally produced - and that directly influences the corporate activities.Downloads
