Cohesion Analysis Between Extensive Documents Texts Sections by the Joint Application of Social Network Analysis and Internal References

Abstract

This article refers to the quality of the textual information, more specifically in extensive documents, addressing the cohesion between text sections. In this sense, an approach was proposed and tested which integrates two technical resources: social network analysis and internal references. The methodology employed was participatory research, including cohesion analysis between 109 sections of an extensive document text developed by the actual researchers. The results have proved satisfactory in helping the researchers to identify points for improvement of cohesion between the various text units in the extensive document analyzed
