LEISURE AND HEALTH IN SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY:
WAYS OF APPROACHING
Abstract
The objective of this work was to map and analyze the dissemination of original articles on leisure and health. The bibliographic review was developed in 09 national periodical, covering the period of 2001 to 2018. The production on the theme represents only 1.6% of the total published articles. Predominantly, Health Sciences authors (91.9%), with a background in Physical Education (79.8%) and linked to federal public institutions (74.5%) in the South (44%) and Southeast (40.6%) in the country are the ones that publish the most. Concepts of leisure and health are poorly developed, problematized, and the World Health Organization is a reference to discuss health. Physical activity and / or physical exercise (54.2%) is the most emphasized subject, prevailing an organic and biological view of the body, which is related to the area of formation of most authors and how it predominantly understands the health. The presence of other themes and approaches, such as culture, public policies and spaces and equipment, although still small, indicates the authors' sensitivity to the interference of other factors, in addition to biomedical ones, in their health condition.
Keywords: Leisure activities. Health promotion. Physical education and training.
