This article aims to analyze how the religions of African matrix were presented in soccer from articles published in the Placar magazine in a sample base that is located between the 70s and 80s. Based on the sources, I seek to analyze the discourses that involved these religions and the way they were part of the national soccer. For this purpose, I mobilize some specific theoretical references to the theme.
