TEACHING WORK AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
DIALOGUES WITH RUSSEL AND FRIEDMANN
Abstract
This work aims to propose reflections about elements present in the Physical Education (PE) teaching work in contemporary times, seeking a dialogue in interface with leisure studies, more specifically with the classic authors of leisure studies, such as Russel (1957) and Friedmann (1964). Although leisure is a field of knowledge in close relationship with PE, productions that bridge the gap with teaching still need to be expanded. As a methodological path, we performed a literature review, featuring a qualitative approach. The contributions of leisure studies to teaching in PE serve to reevaluate the teacher’s own condition of life and not only for intervetion in pedagogical practice.
