This work aims to map and analyze the academic production that refers to dance in the perspective of leisure in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Leisure Studies (PPGIEL) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The mapping was carried out by reading the titles and abstracts of all works published between 2008 and 2013, among which 10 studies were found that deal with the relationship between dance and leisure. Based on this mapping, a qualitative analysis was carried out focusing on the object of study, the methodology used, the dance perspective and the leisure perspective that supported the analysis of the object. The predominance of studies of a qualitative nature stands out, in the historical and ethnographic perspective and the understanding of the concepts of dance and leisure as sociocultural phenomena. We point out that dance production, as well as leisure production, is constructed in a diversified way in transit with other knowledge, being characterized by an interdisciplinary production.
