Abstract

The present article presents an interpretive and critical analysis of the publications on nature adventure activities based on articles published in the periodicals Licere and Revista Brasileira de Ciências do Esporte (RBCE). Initially, the article discusses the concept of nature. The discussion later contemplates what has been published in those journals from a critical point of view, considering two basic issues: the search of adventure and the environmentally-friendly approach of the authors. The environmental issues, as well as brief discussions on the concept of nature were examined in most of the articles, whereas the impacts generated by the activities were contemplated only by a few. Only one of the articles presented a real proposal for environmental education.
