This paper aims to analyze how professionals affiliated with the Brazilian Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Leisure Studies and the Brazilian Society of Physical Activity and Health understand the theme of leisure and health, academically and/or professionally, as well as describe these institutions. This research is qualitative, cross-sectional and exploratory. The study included 80 people (42.9±10.2 years), 39 males; 36 of which were professionals from the first institution. The IRaMuTeQ Software was used for statistical analysis on the textual corpus. The analyses had utilization of 88.25% of the textual corpus that was divided into three classes: 1) "Quality of life"; 2) "Social rights"; 3) "Knowledge"; these were subdivided into two textual subcorpus, i.e.: "Knowledge" and "Human Development". It is considered that professionals understand that there is an interface between leisure and health, as a possibility of human development, however, there is the little intersection of discourses between the analyzed classes, although they present an interlocution.
