Image and Dialogics in Online Interactions

This paper aims at investigating the interaction of two students of English at a languages institute in São Paulo through the use of images as input for the communication process. The concept of Thematic Online Workshops (REZENDE, 2003) was chosen for this activities proposal with the participants, which were included in a discussion list by their English teacher. After sending photos through the discussion list, it was possible to observe how the interaction in the environment occurred. Considering the communication in the online environment as a process defined by verbal interaction, central point of Bakhtinian theory, I used Mikhail Bakhtin's language theory as the basis for analyzing the interactions in the activities proposed.
