Abstract

In the present work there is a concise study in Lexicon Sciences, in which the concept of lexicon is defined according to the lexicologist Maria Tereza Biderman and how the lexicon is dictionarized according to the linguist Maria da Graça Krieger. Subsequently, a brief history of lexicographical production is approached and, soon after, the assumptions of Pedagogical Lexicography with the support of the National Textbook Program - Dictionaries (2012) and the National Common Curricular Base (2017). This movement aims to show that, in addition to the contributions regarding the expansion of vocabulary and linguistic knowledge, school dictionaries also collaborate for the citizenship education of students. Therefore, teachers must make use of this instrument, taking into account the multiple possibilities of teaching and learning that the discursive materiality of school lexicographical works provides, and which helps in the formation and representation of the student as a citizen.
