Narrative, Testimony, and Resistance
Conceptual Articulations and Tensions in the Field of Discourse Studies

This thematic issue includes fifteen articles by researchers from different institutions who, based on theoretical and methodological approaches of a discursive nature, develop reflections and/or analyses on testimonial narratives, conceived as a possibility of resistance to the prevailing hegemonic discourse. Privileging narrative as a mode of discourse organization allows us to highlight its intrinsic relationship with the temporal dimension and with human action, thus implying subjects/narrators who, by recovering, in the present of the enunciation, marks of a past lived or witnessed, place themselves as guarantors of what is said and, at the same time, contribute to destabilizing and questioning the official discourse, being able to counteract denialism (forgetting/erasing the past), silencing, social invisibility, and stereotypes attributed to certain groups in situations of vulnerability. In this context, the analyses and/or reflections undertaken by the authors of the articles that address these issues make it possible to grasp and deepen the articulations and tensions that run through the concepts of narrative, testimony, and resistance, shedding new light on them and thus contributing to their understanding in the field of discourse studies.
