A hipótese da gramática universal e a aquisição de segunda língua

Résumé

The aim of this paper is to present the theory of second languageacquisition based on the Universal Grammar (UG) Hypothesis. Atfirst, the main aspects related to the scope of the Generative Theoryare presented, introducing its main ideas. Then, the main points ofthe theory of second language acquisition based on the UG arepresented, considering some controversial issues and its basicproblems. Finally, the paper tries to critically discuss some of thetheory's obscure points, offering alternative solutions and opinions.
