a Critical Discourse Analysis of Posts on a Business Account on Instagram

This article, carried out through a qualitative study, has as its object seven posts on the official Havan company account. The objective is to investigate whether the discourse, of a political-ideological nature, from the company owner, as well as from interlocutors with the same biases, attempts to manipulate, intimidate and coerce employees or, even with possible political-ideological divergences, there are openness and freedom to express other ways of being. The study is based on the theoretical-methodological perspective of Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 1989, 2003, 2010, 2019; van Dijk, 2020), with the analytical categories of disclaimers, intertextuality and assumptions, and the concept of neoliberalism (Avelino, 2016; Bazzicalupo, 2017; Fairclough, 2000, 2010; Safatle, 2021). The results demonstrate that the owner of Havan tries to manipulate, intimidate and coerce employees, as well as it is not seen any type of openness and freedom to express other ways of being. Furthermore, there is the inclusion of other voices (interlocutors) in an attempt to legitimize and universalize their anti-science/education, religious, and happiness discourse in a far-right and neoliberal hegemonic bias..
