The purpose of the study was to analyse the nosocomial infection concept of 23 nursing team professionals, in medical surgical units of a major general Hospital in Belo Horizonte. The results were analysed by the theoretical and scientific conceptions about nosocomial infection. The concept of nosocomial infection was presented partially by 21,7% and the same percentage got close of the General Surgeon concept. The (56.6%) left, built up their concept using facts of the infectious process. The concept that the professionals have about nosocomial infection will be one of the references for the actions of prevention and control of nosocomial infection.Downloads
