Objetivo: mapear os padrões espaciais e temporais da mortalidade por diabetes mellitus. Método: trata-se de uma revisão de escopo conduzida conforme as recomendações do JBI e reportada de acordo com o PRISMA-ScR. A busca foi realizada em abril de 2025, nas bases MEDLINE, BVS, Web of Science, Scopus, LILACS, EMBASE e na literatura cinzenta, sem restrição de idioma ou período. Resultados: foram incluídos 12 estudos realizados entre 2015 e 2024, predominantemente na Ásia e nas Américas, com delineamentos ecológicos e de séries temporais, utilizando modelagem bayesiana e análise espacial. Identificou-se significativa heterogeneidade espacial, com clusters de alta mortalidade em regiões de baixo desenvolvimento socioeconômico. Fatores socioeconômicos (urbanização e renda per capita), ambientais (maior urbanização, aumento da temperatura média e poluição), demográficos (países do hemisfério sul) e comportamentais (obesidade e inatividade física) mostraram associação com a mortalidade por diabetes mellitus. Conclusão: a mortalidade por diabetes mellitus apresenta padrões espaço-temporais heterogêneos, o que demanda intervenções contextualizadas e o fortalecimento da vigilância epidemiológica.
