Abstract

This study aims to identify the vaccines recommended by the current national and international legislation to health care professionals and analyze the main aspects related to this issue on this group of professionals. We verified that there is a wide range of vaccines on the national and international market frequently updated on the vaccination schedules of the general public and of the healthcare professionals. It is patent that those professionals constantly exposed to various pathogens need to be immunized, however worldwide many do not conform with this preventive measure consequently caregivers'health is exposed to a risk easily preventable. Healthcare management and the health professionals themselves should reflect on the importance of immunization for individual and collective protection.
