This research aimed to evaluate an information system used in a state company occupational unit and its contribution to health surveillance at work. A report containing data related to the workers' health certificate and generated by the company's information system was selected. Based on this report the absenteeism rates were analyzed i.e. the frequency rate and the percentage of working time lost during 2007. The report was found to be extremely valuable for the data organization, and the information system used in the company was a potential tool for the health team to provide data regarding health and morbidity amongst the workers. It contributes to delineate actions for health surveillance at workDownloads
