The Systematization of the Assistance of Nursing (SAN) is a form to organize the actions of the professional of Nursing, being promoted the briefing of problems and offering conditions so that the professional can prioritize and plan the Nursing care. This study describes the accomplishment of a proposal of a Nursing care methodology implantation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a General Hospital in Santa Catarina - Brazil. The objective was to teach the nurses of the ICU to SAN, based on the Theory of the Human Basic Necessities beings of Wanda de Aguiar Horta, in their work process. The study was conducted through five group meetings. The proposal was presented, it was argued and the theory was demonstrated. The process of systematization in other health institutions was also carried through. It was argues a form to use the Nursing Process in accordance with the UTI reality of the related hospital. The nursing assessment, care plan and evaluation phases were applied in practice. It was concluded through the meetings with the nursing participants; from daily observation of the professionals that positive results were obtained. The nurses saide that they had understood the value of the nursing care documentation and its importance to promote communication between the professionals.Downloads
