Abstract

Art therapy is a process that allows creativity and self-expression and it affects cognitive, affective and social development. The aim of this work was to compare the modeling outcomes of hospitalized children, before and after an art therapy intervention. Two groups were assessed (10 children in each group) in a quasi experimental design. Results showed that the works produced by children after the intervention were qualitatively better. The conclusion is that art therapy may be useful for promoting abilities in hospitalized children.
