Abstract

This study examined the training of nurses at the Nursing Graduation Center of the Faculdade de Medicina do Triângulo Mineiro (FMTM), according to the opinion of alumni from 1992 to 1999. There were 108 workers who responded to a questionnaire with open and multiple-choice questions. The answers were analyzed with the assistance of computer software, which helped in counting the relative and absolute occurrence of the variables under study. For open questions, the answers were analyzed for content, according to Bardin (1991) and 5 large categories emerged: professional dream, training in scientific activities, insertion in the labor market, foundations for professional activity and contribution to the School itself in training future nurses. Many suggestions were made by alumni to improve the quality of the teaching by the School.
