Abstract

The goal of this work is to examine the characteristics the nursing job assumes in a psychiatric internment unit in a transformation instituition. Through the analysis of the evidence contents given by nurses, nursing assistants and monitors of a job in Campinas - SP, we could verify that these people describe their jobs sometimes as a sef-empleyed activity and self-suporting, sometimes as a social practice done im cooperation with other co-workers in the multiprofessional team. We can also notice na increase in the mental suffering understandig and a transformation in the intervention about its symptoms, expressed in the nursing care developed by these workers.
