INFORMATION DEVICE ON EVALUATION OF CONTACTS OF PEOPLE WITH TUBERCULOSIS: VALIDATION STUDY

Abstract

Objectives: to validate the content of a booklet on the evaluation of contacts of people with pulmonary tuberculosis. Method: methodological study developed in Ananindeua, Pará, Brazil, carried out between June and October 2021. Sixteen specialists selected by criteria of expertise participated and answered an organized instrument with a seven-item Likert scale. Data analyzed by descriptive statistics to obtain the Content Validation Index. Results: the first version of the booklet obtained a Content Validation Index of 0.73, considered acceptable by the literature. Based on the suggestions, texts and images were restructured. The final version had 20 pages and highlights signs and symptoms of the disease, guidelines for collecting material for examination, family life with an index case, regionalized and humanized context between health professional and user. Conclusion and implications for practice: the booklet was considered adequate to mediate practices for evaluating contacts of people with tuberculosis and the content is composed of information that can contribute to greater adherence to treatment, new early diagnoses of the disease and breaking the chain of transmission of the disease.
