Abstract

The objects of this study were to identify the Social Representation of glutaraldeyd, developed by nursing practitioners. The guiding theoritical axis was leash with the Theory of the Social Representation according to Moscivici, as it an excellent object of study, with the purpose of verifying the knowledge and common ideas put forward by practitioners that use glutaraldeyd as a part of their job in their everyday activities. However, forty (40) interviews were made, which provided us information about their interaction with the object - the glutaraldeyd. The sample was formed by twenty nurses, nursing technicians, auxiliaries and attendants in private. In a town in the interior of Minas Gerais - Brazil. After submitting the contents to an analysis subsidized by Bardin, eleven (11) great themes or categories were detected. These procedings resulted in the Social Representation put forward by these nursing practitioners, based on the concepts of anchorage and objectification. This brought us to the knowledge they have, and which flows from two patterns: one, considered scientifc and the other, that circulates in the day-to-day routine.
