The use of case management in psychiatric nursing: a case report

Understanding mental health is important, not only for people who suffer from mental disorders, but also for health professionals working in this specialty area. The concept of case management derives from the term quality of care, when more specifically referring to psychiatry and mental health. In this article, we present the history of Pedro, who was followed by case management for six months after his first psychotic episode. The ethnographic methodology was used. Results show the capacity of human beings to resist to the adversities of life in response to the investment provided for them.Downloads
