Resumo

Partindo da premissa de que o (dito) animal ou humano não preexiste às relações nas quais tais categorias emergem, desenvolveu-se uma investigação que explora como essas categorias são produzidas de forma situada. A partir desse enquadramento investigativo e dos estudos críticos animais, analisam-se as noções de sacrifício, reciprocidade e resistência, considerando os modos pelos quais opera a dominação animal. A metodologia fundamenta-se em uma etnografia multilocalizada em contextos antiespecistas e de lutas indígenas, tomando como marco teórico o realismo agencial de Barad e uma abordagem difrativa. Dado que diferentes práticas sacrificiais (rituais, caça, pecuária) são significadas em marcos de reciprocidade que reivindicam o consentimento que os animais mais-que-humanos dariam à própria morte, propõe-se a noção de reciprocidade negativa para dar conta da coerção, da manipulação ou da violência, bem como metodologias orientadas a compreender as vivências dos animais para além das significações humanas. Perceber o outro, animal ou animalizado, como incapaz de resistir intencionalmente pode legitimar sua dominação. Por sua vez, reconhecer a intencionalidade dos animais quando desobedecem ou resistem a condições de exploração pode ser apresentado como uma demonstração de sua colaboração com os sistemas que os exploram.
