Optical prescription for assembly and disassembly of the hybrid body

Abstract

Corporeal processes and racial subjectivity regimes are analyzed in this article. In order to disrupt the mith of racial democracy through the racialized bodily process as yellow, we will use conceptual characters. Mobilizing concepts from Deleuze and Guattari to propose a reading of the functioning of racial subjectivation machines, we open the territory in which the fiction of race (a concept in the work of Achille Mbembe) operates through the negotiation of the category of the yellow racial subject. We describe bodily assemblies that oscillate in the hierarchy of racial subjects: hybrid racial subjects encoded by ambiguity. Those are existences that move inside the machine to whiten the position of power. Sometimes referred to as carriers of the phenotype that not make up Brazilianness, sometimes traded as a model for non-white identities, the bodies encoded as yellow experience the potentiality and control of the hybrid aspect of their bodily assemblies.
