Abstract

This article aims to identifie a pattern of actions that has characterized the Brazilian working class. For this, a widespread use of the term class is used. This use connects with some specific needs that, as a whole, make up a Western narrative about progress. It is against the background of this narrative that the Brazilian working class has been evaluated. Therefore, the judgment resulting from that comparison invariably ends in the indication of any degraded or inconclusive figure. We propose here to change this background by adopting the procedures of Brazilian culture itself. Through this change, we realize that it is the trickery that has characterized the actions of the Brazilian working class: their actions reveal oscillation, juxtaposition and dodging in relation to self-awareness and a homogeneous pattern of actions.
