This study was conducted as part of an extension project linked to the Geography teacher training program at the State University of Northern Paraná (UENP) and involved a group of socially vulnerable women in the municipality of Cornélio Procópio, Paraná. The aim of this article is to present the action research carried out within the extension project Women in the Fight Against Hunger. Methodologically, this study relied on a review of relevant literature, and the findings were derived from interviews and experiences gathered throughout the project. The title of the project underscores the initiative’s intent to counteract poverty and, consequently, the hunger affecting varying degrees within the participating group. Additionally, the project fostered economic autonomy by offering lectures and workshops that provided the skills necessary for workforce integration, given that many participants had either never held formal employment or had been out of the labor market for extended periods.
