Abstract

Cardiopulmonary diseases have limiting factors in children and adolescents, which promote a sedentary lifestyle, requiring continuous, even remote, monitoring of these subjects. The study aims to demonstrate how telerehabilitation is a useful tool in the treatment of children and adolescents with cardiopulmonary diseases during a pandemic period where access face-to-face care is restricted. With social isolation due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, telerehabilitation was implemented for patients who were already in rehabilitation. Eighty-one telereahabilitation calls were carried out from May to November 2020 to 6 patients, aged 10 to 19 years, 5 of whom were diagnosed with asthma and one in the late postoperative period of heart transplantation. There were difficulties related to communication and monitoring of patients, but it allowed the establishment of a bond and the permanence of patients' adherence to treatment.
