EXTENSION ACTION AS STRENGTHENING EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES ON HEALTHY FOOD WITH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The health education process establishes forms of social communication aimed at health promotion actions that contribute to the expansion of healthy behaviors. Actions involving health education can be understood as skills and competencies that allow people to access, understand and apply knowledge about healthy habits that can positively influence the quality of life of the individual and the collective. Therefore, it aims to make it possible to obtain health knowledge and promote user autonomy so that they can actively contribute to their own health. Bearing in mind that health promotion actions in schools make it possible to create healthy habits during childhood, preventing problems such as obesity and malnutrition, an activity was developed with schoolchildren in order to offer knowledge about the importance of fruit consumption for the growth and development. And, based on this, the present experience report aims to describe an extension action carried out with schoolchildren focused on health education about healthy eating.
