Abstract

What is the role of children in the struggle for land and housing? Investigating child protagonism, this master's research seeks the answer in an analysis of the Guarani Kaiowá Occupation, organized social movement, located in Contagem/MG, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. Even without direct descent from the indigenous ethnic group, the children of the Occupation are entitled Guarani, as they bear homage to the struggle of the original peoples. GK children work without forgetting their studies, play while fighting, relate affectively under the tree foot of Manga – place of games and meetings, of fresh shade, of political participation, of the feasts and communions, in short, of the community collectivity...
