Abstract

Oral lesions are common in HIV infected children. These illnesses are related to the patients’ general state of health and their prognosis when undergoing Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART). The aim of this article is to describe, according to reports in scientific literature, the main stomatologic lesions associated with HIV in children, detailing their clinical features, diagnosis, and possible treatments, and with this, attempt to aid in intraoral exams and patient follow-ups.
