According to the WHO report in 2015, among all countries in the world, Brazil ranked 3rd among the countries with the highest incidence of deaths from traffic, a methodology capable of estimating costs will be proposed in this article arising from a traffic accident to the city of Belo Horizonte / MG has seen the need to fill gaps in this context. a well-known approach without a road safety segment was used, which is the "Statistical Value of Life" (VEV) whose application is mainly carried out in orderly projects focused on accident reduction. For the aggregated analysis of the value of life, from the results of the GDP per capita of Belo Horizonte, using a rule of thumb suggested by the iRAP, it verifies that it indicates the indication for an average order of R$ 2.57 million, which indicates an expectation of possible revenue in case there was no death.
