Abstract

This article objectively analyzes the spatial distribution of deaths, which occurred between 1996 and 2021, whose basic cause was Chagas disease (CD). The methodology was based on the verification of spatial autocorrelation based on the Global Moran Index and the Local Moran Index (LISA) in its univariate form, used to investigate the distribution of the Average Mortality Rate due to CD. The results showed the presence of clusters formed from groups of Brazilian municipalities with high values of Average Mortality Rate due to CD, mainly in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia.
