Starting from the news of Édouard Claparède's trip to Brazil in 1930, when he was received by authorities, alumni and teachers at the port of Rio de Janeiro, we initially mapped his disciples and stopped at the educator Francisco Lins from Minas Gerais, who would be forgotten in the historiography of education. Rooted in Juiz de Fora, he integrated the first class at the Institut Jean-Jacques Rousseau, in 1912, which at the time had teachers like Adolphe Ferrière, Pierre Bovet, Paul Godin, François Naville and Jules Bois, among others. He established contact with Claparède on his first trip to Europe, commissioned by the Minas Gerais Secretariat of Agriculture in order to organize and direct the representation of that state at the International Exhibition in Turim, in 1911, when he also received from the Secretary of the Interior, from Minas Gerais, the task of studying institutes in Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, France and Germany. He also returned to Geneva, shortly before Swiss educator came to our country. Upon returning from his first study trip, he wrote about education in newspapers, he assumed the rectorate of the Ginásio Mineiro de Barbacena, he taught at the Escola Normal in Juiz de Fora and, in 1927, he worked in the organization of the I Congress of Primary Education in Minas Gerais, when he presented theses. The analysis of Francisco Lins' trajectory aims to expand the interpretation of the exchange of pedagogical ideas between Switzerland and Brazil, which inspired important initiatives in Minas Gerais education.
