Aspectos civilizatórios da passagem de D. João VI pelo Rio de Janeiro

The boal of this little essay is to make a fast analysis of the cultural measures took by D. João VI during his stay in the city of Rio de Janeiro (1808-1921). Well try to demonstrate that, independently of the Portuguese monarch intentions, such measures helped the constitution of a political and cultural elite identified with the national interests elite that would perform an important role in the independence process, as well as the organization of a nascent Brazilian culture.
