It is important that editorial policy promotes a culture of research integrity in the context of editing, evaluating, and publishing manuscripts in journals. Care for research integrity may be fully detailed, explicit, or absent in guidelines for authors and reviewers of education journals. The inclusion of principles and standards of research integrity issued by international organizations involved in scientific dissemination in journals, as a preventive and dissuasive measure against inappropriate behavior, is increasingly urgent in the scenarios of changes in publications brought about by Open Science, digital dissemination, and the use of Artificial Intelligence in the writing and review of manuscripts.
