Abstract

There is a significant interest in the phenomenon of “violence” in diverse areas of knowledge, including, Education. This article, therefore, presents the results of an investigation that collected, described and analyzed academic productions (theses and dissertations) around the theme "violence at school" reported in communication vehicles, defended and published from the 2000s onwards. Based on the theoretical-methodological formulations of Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis, the research mapped works that examined the role of the media in the conception, understanding and dissemination of cases of violence that occurred in the school environment. In this article, the following criteria are considered for the treatment of the materialities under analysis: a) author profiles; b) research focus; c) methods and techniques; and d) references, followed by brief notes on the information collected. The data allowed us to better understand the production of knowledge about how violence in the Brazilian educational institutions is reported not only in newspapers and magazines, but also on radios and other means. It is expected that this review will contribute as a referential way to future investigations and to the understanding of the current state of academic interest in the topic.

Possui graduação em Letras Português/Espanhol pela Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS).Mestranda em Letras- Linguagens e Discurso na Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados (UFGD). Bolsista do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) de 2016 a 2018 (UEMS). Bolsista do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica (PIBIC) de 2018 a 2019 (UEMS). Monitora de Língua Espanhola pelo programa de monitoria da UEMS/Dourados em 2018.

Marcos Lúcio de Sousa Góis, UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DA GRANDE DOURADOS (UFGD)

Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (1997), mestrado em Linguística e Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2001) e doutorado em Linguística e Língua Portuguesa também pela Unesp (2007), com estágio de doutoramento no Centro de Estudos Sociais, da Universidade de Coimbra - Portugal (2006), sob orientação do Prof. Dr. Boaventura de Sousa Santos. É ex-professor educador no Instituto de Física de São Carlos, da Universidade de São Paulo, nas disciplinas voltadas para a Leitura e Produção de Textos em curso de licenciatura em ciências exatas. Foi Coordenador Pedagógico do Centro de Seleção (2008-2010), Coordenador Geral do Centro de Seleção da UFGD (2011 a 2013) e Coordenador do Programa de Pós-graduação (mestrado) em Letras (2015-2017). Realizou pós-doutoramento no LAEL/PUC-SP (2014-2015), sendo supervisionado pela Profa. Dra. Beth Brait. Atualmente é Professor Associado III e Vice-Diretor na Faculdade de Comunicação, Artes e Letras da UFGD (Dourados, MS, Brasil). Atua na área de Linguística e Língua Portuguesa, com ênfase em Análise do Discurso, principalmente nos seguintes temas: Análise do Discurso e Violência; Análise do Discurso e Cultura; Análise do discurso e Ensino.
