ENCHANTED SCIENCE TEACHING
DECOLONIAL MACUMBAS AND CROSSROADS CONTRIBUTIONS
Keywords:
Decoloniality, Epistemology of macumbas, Pedagogy of the crossroads, Science teachingAbstract
The coloniality concept reflects the presence of colonialism's racist power patterns in contemporary reality. Based on Macumbas Epistemology and Crossroads Pedagogy as thought by Luiz Rufino and Luiz Antônio Simas, this study proposes an enchanted science teaching, a possibility of coloniality transgression through science teaching. First, Simas and Rufino’s work is positioned within decolonial thought, followed by a discussion on the foundations of Macumbas Epistemology and Crossroads Pedagogy, focusing on the enchantment and cruzo concepts. The study concludes by proposing enchanted science teaching as a project based on a westernity critique and on interculturality construction based on Brazilian macumbas.
