Produção e reprodução da cultura escolar: algumas delimitações para a Análise da experiência dos Professores indígenas Xakriabá

By the setting up of the indigenous schools in Minas Gerais, a new institutional reality was created the indigenous school and the indigenous teachers are part of the state educational system. This paper discusses some aspects of the theoretical approach of the research which is investigating this new institutional reality, in which the Xakriabá schools are the empirical field of investigation. It focuses the concept of culture in its different uses in educational research, in particular in those on the culture of the school and the school performance of minority children. Two directions for the analysis are pointed out: the need to take the school contexts as socio historical constructions and the importance of taking into account the cultural frame of reference production by the communities in the schooling process.
