Resumen

This work intends to analyse the configuration of the field of the Literary Studies in the Brazilian academic life during the last three decades. This essay will focus on the discussions that have been recently carried out concerning the validity of the comparative and multicultural approaches in the literary criticism produced in Brazilian universities.
