Tecnologias de reprodução assistida e Peitos e Ovos (2023): um debate sobre a obra, as diretrizes da IAD, e o anonimato do doador

Resumen

O artigo analisa o romance Peitos e Ovos (2023), de Mieko Kawakami, a partir de uma perspectiva ainda pouco explorada na fortuna crítica da obra: a experiência masculina vinculada às tecnologias de reprodução assistida (TRAs). Este estudo desloca o foco para o personagem Jun Aizawa, que se apresenta como parte interessada no debate sobre o direito de indivíduos concebidos por inseminação artificial por doador (IAD) de conhecer sua origem biológica. Metodologicamente, o artigo articula a leitura crítica do romance com a análise do contexto sociopolítico japonês, e à ausência de legislação específica sobre as TRAs no Japão. A partir desse diálogo, problematiza-se o anonimato dos doadores e suas implicações éticas, legais e subjetivas. Conclui-se que o romance amplia o debate contemporâneo sobre reprodução assistida ao articular múltiplas vozes e tensionar questões relativas aos direitos reprodutivos, à definição de parentalidade e aos limites entre desejo individual, responsabilidade ética e reconhecimento identitário.

Eduarda Dorne Hepp, Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso (UFMT)

Atualmente é doutoranda em Estudos de Linguagem, pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT). Mestre pela mesma instituição. Graduada em Licenciatura em Língua e Literaturas de Língua Inglesa pela UFMT (Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso), Campus de Rondonópolis, em 2020.
Mariana Bolfarine, Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso (UFMT)

É doutora (2015) e mestre (2011) na área de estudos linguísticos e literários em inglês pela Universidade de São Paulo. Possui Bacharelado (2006) e Licenciatura (2008) em Letras - Português/Inglês pela mesma Universidade. Atualmente, é pesquisadora da Cátedra de Estudos Irlandeses WB Yeats - FFLCH/USP e presidente da Associação Brasileira de Estudos Irlandeses (ABEI). Desde 2017 é professora adjunta do Curso de Letras-Língua e Literaturas de Língua Inglesa da Universidade Federal de Rondonópolis (UFR).
