A CONSTRUÇÃO DO NOVO BENTO RODRIGUES E OS DESAFIOS DA RETOMADA DO MODO DE VIDA DOS ATINGIDOS E ATINGIDAS PELA BARRAGEM DE FUNDÃO

Abstract

The Community of Bento Rodrigues, dated to the end of the 17th century, was the first area affected by the mud resulting from the rupture of the Fundão dam under the responsibility of Miners BHP Billiton, Vale SA and Samarco SA that took place on November 5, 2015, in Mariana, Minas Gerais. With the start of the construction site of the new community, the architectural proposals and the reimplantation of the life model of those affected were questioned. The aim of this research was to show the developments of the reconstruction of the sub-district of Bento Rodrigues, popularly called Novo Bento, after the socio-technical-environmental disaster of the Fundão Dam. This study did an analysis of the construction and its structural elements that guarantee, or not, the recognition of the community within the new territory, as well as continuity of the peasant way of life that existed before the rupture, which is based on traditional agricultural production in addition to mineral, animal and vegetable extraction, meeting the food sovereignty of families. It was made the analysis of all the resolutions proposed by the Renova Foundation for New Bento, the methodological building and participation of those affected in the process from a literature review.
