Abstract

Surrounded by the mysteries that the
Congado tradition has perpetuated over
time, the Arturos Quilombola Community,
located in the municipality of Contagem/
MG, transforms the processes to live and
die in time-spaces of celebration where
knowledge and the flavors minglein a history
of (r) existence. The proposed reflection how
Arturos’ flavors are mobilized by tradition
in their re-elaboration and perpetuation in
the contemporary world. Such flavors will
be discussed from your role in the formation
and transmission of legacies of the tradition
and your role as ritual element that creates a
sacred dimension of live historic-geographic
processes arturo which constituted modernity
brazilian. These perspectives help to
understand how flavors build, through
tradition, ways of being and belonging,
strengthening community identities.
