Entre Lógica e História
Hegel e o Fantasma do Colonialismo

This paper focuses on the relationship between logic and history in Hegelian thought. At the outset, we investigate some fundamental topics of the Doctrine of Essence, especially the concept of freedom as a conversion of contingency into necessity. Next, we seek to map how this conversion is transposed to the historical process and what role logic plays in this transposition, that is, whether the logical form overlaps with the historical content. Our conclusion is that there is indeed a hypostasis of the logical element, which causes a series of distortions in the historical movement; "anistoric" societies, such as the Africans and the Indians, are the most evident symptom of this asymmetry. In this way, we aim to reshape the terms that usually guide decolonial debates about Hegelian philosophy.
