Abstract

This research aims to elucidate, within the literary processes of investigation of the so-called quattrocentesco Italian humanism, the unusual thought of Leon Battista Alberti. To this end, we not only analyze the linguistic and rhetorical procedures through which his era and time shed new light on the systematic organization of knowledge - making rhetoric not only a form of philosophical investigation about human nature, but also the art par excellence of the human, emphasizing in the study of letters the path to human elevation and self-mastery - but also how Alberti's thought, with this culture, was charged with tension, leading him to perceive in the critique of humanism his most powerful achievement.

  • Claudio Cavargere, PUC-SP

    Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais e em Filosofia - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Especialização/Aperfeiçoamento em Histoire des arts et des civilisations pela École du Louvre (2022) e Mestrado em Filosofia no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da PUC-SP (2022). Atualmente cursa Doutorado em Filosofia no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da PUC-SP. Realizou período de estágio internacional e doutorado sanduíche na Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza" (2024-2025). Foi Visiting Researcher na Pontificia Università Gregoriana de Roma (2024-2025). Tem experiência nas áreas de Filosofia, Arte e História, com ênfase em Humanismo, Retórica e Línguas Clássicas, Estética e Filosofia da Arte, Filosofia e Literatura e História da Arte; atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Humanismo, Leon Battista Alberti, Renascimento Italiano, Cultura Clássica e Sobrevivências do Antigo. Pesquisador no núcleo de pesquisa Warburg Renascimentos da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP - SP) e do grupo República das Letras - Textos Renascentistas em Latim (CNPq). Membro do corpo editorial da revista PARALAXE da PUC-SP.
