About the Journal

Kriterion is a journal housed at the Department of Philosophy of The Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It was first published in 1947, making it the oldest Philosophy journal in the country. It aims to publish high quality original philosophical work.

Kriterion is published three times a year. The journal publishes articles on philosophy or of philosophical relevance, in any philosophical field. Its issues are varied and plural in terms of content, bringing together papers from many philosophical topics and approaches.

Although the official language of the journal is Portuguese, Kriterion also publishes papers in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

All articles published by Kriterion are double-blind peer-reviewed. The journal only publishes articles by Doctors (PhDs) and Doctoral (PhD) candidates.

The journal is indexed by the Philosopher´'s Index (USA), MLA International Bibliography (USA), Bibliographie de la Philosophie (Louvain, Belgium), EBSCO (Massachusetts, USA), SciELO (Latin America), Scopus/Elsevier (Holland), Web of Science, DOAJ, Latindex, CCN/IBICT (Brazil) Pergamum (Brazil).

The journal has achieved the highest ranking in the Brazilian QUALIS/CAPES committee: A1.
