In an era of digital transformation, organizations need to improve the ways of creating value to gain competitiveness, changing the way they do business, eliminating the risk of disruption, and adapting to new customer behaviors. In this context, the growth of the Platform Business Models stands out. Thus, the purpose of this article is to present and analyze the characteristics of organizations whose business model is characterized as 'platform type' Therefore, a literature review was carried out in the EBSCO, ACM DIGITAL LIBRARY, WEB OF SCIENCE, SCOPUS and LISA databases, in order to better identify and characterize such characteristics and phenomena related to digital companies. The results identified that 'customer experience', 'data', 'competitiveness', 'content' and 'innovation' are elements to be considered in a Platform Business Model.
